Get Your Wardrobe Ready for the Spring of 2018

Every single year, designers keep surprising us with their ideas, twists and comebacks. And just when we thought it doesn’t go any further than this, the spring 2018 fashion week happened. With that being said and without further ado, here are this season’s must-haves according to high fashion runways.

Sequins and glitter

Who said sequins and glitter are only for wintertime? Gucci, Marc Jacobs and Dolce & Gabbana proved us all wrong. Even though they reappeared at the end of 2016 as a must-have, they continue to dominate the world of fashion even two years later. If you were born to stand out from the crowd, spice up your wardrobe with a couple of new sequined pieces such as a sequin dress, sequin shorts, skirt or shirt.

‘80s shoulder pads

You may or may not like it, but the ‘80s just won’t stop coming back. It all started as a winter trend of blazers with shoulder pads, but now we have dresses with exaggerated puffs and frills from Saint Laurent, futuristic shirts from Gucci, etc. One thing is certain – don’t mock it till you try it.

This trend was definitely a breath of fresh air in the sea of basic blazers and jackets. Furry but still warmer weather appropriate, feather jackets are what spring fashion is all about. It is time to bring our wardrobes to a whole new level and rock the streets in the style of Nina Ricci, Proenza Schouler and Saint Laurent.

Athleisure

Even though the athleisure trend is at the forefront of fashion, its popularity cannot stop growing. Especially now, when Rihanna decided to show us all how it is done by launching her Fenty x Puma collections. What used to be ‘trash’ is now brave and stylish, so in other words, if you feel like wearing your ‘90s-like tracksuit combined with strappy heel sandals, you are more than welcome to do so.

Straight outta comic book

The latest fashion shows have proven once again that fashion really is art. Just take a look at Prada, Calvin Klein (of course) or Versace fashion shows, and you’ll know what the fuss is about. We’ve seen it all – art-infused prints, comic book faces and all kinds of graphic designs in every possible form: from coats and jackets through asymmetrical dresses all the way to overalls and playsuits. So if you are among those who are all about the ‘90s vibe, get yourself something from Calvin Klein online because it is your time to shine.

Pastel

Whether it is pink, lilac, duck egg blue or soft lemon, expect to see a whole range of pastels this season. We now finally understand Victoria Beckham’s sentence saying delicacy really CAN be strong. How? It’s simple – just wear these ice cream hues in unexpected ways like models did on Celine and Preen fashion shows.

Florals

For spring? Groundbreaking. Well, not entirely, no. This season won’t be about those classic, life-like flowers but rather cartoon-like, bold ones in a variety of colors and retro prints, like the ones seen on Marc Jacobs fashion shows. This pattern will definitely give your wardrobe a breath of fresh air.

Plastic

You know what Barbie once said: Life in plastic – it’s fantastic! Plastic was also one of the predominant looks for the spring and summer season of 2018. There was literally everything – from transparent boots and glamorous capes from Chanel through Calvin Klein’s fire red dress all the way to Valentino’s futuristic moto jackets. Simply perfect if you live in a rainy country such as Britain, for example.

The updated trench

These sliced and reworked trench coats are what outerwear is all about. Trench with ruching, feathers, sheer fabrics, as well as the 2-in-1 illusion of two mixed jackets such as trench over denim like the one from Balenciaga are definitely the definitions of cool.
