The 2nd Annual Southern Laced Creative Arts Awards

Southern Laced would like to recognize individuals who inspired communities through the field of arts in 2017. Awardees, which include artist working in literary arts, visual arts, theater, music, singing, design, and dance from the Jackson Metro Area in Mississippi, will be nominated by the public.

NOMINATIONS

Nominations in the following six categories will be accepted via the nominations form below from February 11, 2018 to February 18, 2018:

2017 Southern Laced Artist of the Year Award – A dedicated artist who has inspired and influenced communities through the field of arts.
2017 Southern Laced Dance Award – A dancer or choreographer who has inspired and influenced communities through the field of arts.
2017 Southern Laced Design Award – A Fashion, Graphic, Stage or Web Designer who has inspired and influenced communities through the field of arts.
2017 Southern Laced Literary and Theatre Award – A Director, Actor or Writer who has inspired and influenced communities through the field of arts.
2017 Southern Laced Music Award – A Contemporary, Blues, Jazz or Rhythm & Blues musician or singer who has inspired and influenced communities through the field of arts.
2017 Southern Laced Visual Arts Award – An artist who has inspired and influenced communities through drawing, painting, photography or film.

OFFICIAL NOMINEES

The Top 10 Nominees in each category will be announced on February 21, 2018. Voting for these nominees will be open from February 21, 2018 – February 25, 2018. The nominee with the most votes in each category will be the designated winner.

Winners will be announced on February 28, 2018, via southernlaced.com.

DISCLAIMER

All nominees shall be at least 18 years or older to be eligible to participate in the 2nd Annual Southern Laced Creative Arts Awards. If under the age of 18, the nominee can ONLY be nominated by his/her parent. Nominees shall reside in the Jackson Metro Area of Mississippi. Odds of winning depend on the number of votes the nominees receive during the voting period.

Anyone shall nominate an artist with a social media presence for the 2nd Annual Southern Laced Creative Arts Awards. Nominations received before February 11, 2018 will be disqualified. Duplicate nominations will not increase the nominees chance of winning. Please note that entries shall be disqualified at any time without explanation.

Should there be a tie in any category after final votes have been tallied, Southern Laced reserves the right to randomly select the potential winner.

Contributors of Southern Laced and their immediate family shall not be nominated, but they are encouraged to nominate an artist of their choice.

NOMINEES SHALL NOT BE NOMINATED FOR MORE THAN ONE CATEGORY.
