That’s why multi-Grammy nominated duo Louis York (Chuck Harmony & Claude Kelly) is excited about the release of their new Bossa Nova-inspired single “Strawberry Skies,” which is available on all digital platforms. Written and produced by the duo, “Strawberry Skies” is a love song about the angst, hope, and wonder that a relationship brings. The single takes the listener on a ride led by Claude Kelly’s velvet vocals over the smooth jazz stylings of Chuck Harmony, tickling the ivory keys leading into a very robust samba showing off what makes Harmony a master at piano playing.
“‘Strawberry Skies’ is a love song about tenderness and romance! We feel it’s important for Black men to put that on front street,” states Louis York. “We were inspired by love songs made by Lionel Richie, Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers, and so many more. The art of a good love song is not lost on us, and we are here to push that forward.”

“Strawberry Skies” is the follow-up to Louis York’s “It Is What It Is” (click here). Stirred by the changes within their lives and events across the world (pandemic, politics, social unrest, war), the duo turned their lessons learned into “It Is What Is,” a feel-good song that will automatically make you want to do so a two-step and throw your cares away.

Both songs will appear on their sophomore album, Healing Feeling. Until its release, the duo will be releasing more songs for fans. In 2019, Louis York released their debut album America Griots, which produced songs “Don’t Forget,” “Teach Me a Song,”and “No Regrets.” Besides finishing their forthcoming album, Louis York is back in the studio writing and producing for artists like labelmates The Shindellas (debut album “Hits That Stick Like Grits”) and more.
