ABOUT EVERGREEN CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY CHURCH (EC³)

VISION: Evergreen is an historical anchor and community resource where the presence of God is felt, lives are transformed, and the fruits of the Spirit are manifested.

MISSION: To be a beacon of light and hope, and connect people with God through authentic relationships and service to our local communities and beyond, because our lives depend on it.

Founded in 1869, Evergreen, the oldest church in the area, has always been
known as the Mother Church of the Community.

The mission of the church is to be a beacon of light and hope; and to connect
people with God through authentic relationships and service to our local
communities and beyond, because our lives depend on it.

EC³ is an independent non-denominational community of believers, grounded in
the Wesley tradition. Our faith, however, transcends denominational boundaries
as reflected in a strong communal relationship with the larger community of
Christians.

Our reason for being is to love God with all our heart, and to love others as we
love ourselves. Love is the source of our obedience to God; and is demonstrated through praise and worship which glorify him. Love for others is shown through service that results in the Fruit of the Spirit. We aspire to, not do our own will, but the will of God.

Since its very humble beginning over 150 years ago, Evergreen has consistently
demonstrated a commitment to ministering to the total needs of its members
and community. In addition to its primary spiritual focus, the Church is a
resource generously available to the entire community. We seek to serve the
whole person. That is the charge we are committed to keeping.

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the
law and the prophets.” – Matthew 22:37-40
