The Communities Working to Unite Youth (CWUY) 501c3 Organization is excited to host our Annual Martin Luther King Celebration entitled “I Remember Martin”. This event is a day where we will reflect on a man of greatness while celebrating with our communities.

CWUY will honor Martin Luther King with a Parade and Community Festival on Monday, January 17, 2022 in Brandon, MS. With the pandemic, many of our events have been limited to Zoom, what better way to come out and enjoy family, friends and citizens of the this community.

“It is our duty to unite all youth with positive and creative programs while educating them on history, community pride and meaningful and healthy discussions,” said LaToya McNair, President of CWUY.

“We are so thankful for Martin Luther King and what he stood for. We invite all of the community to come and have fun as we pay honor to a man that dedicated his life for all people.”

Please note, the City will be closing the parade route at 10:45 am.

The parade will begin at Brandon Middle School at 11 a.m. After the parade, CWUY will host a festival at Shiloh Park with food trucks, art and craft vendors, etc.
