As omicron variant spreads in U.S., requests for Pfizer and Moderna boosters on the rise at Jackson State University vaccine site; free shots available Tuesday, Dec. 7, for campus, local communities

(JACKSON, Miss.) — As the COVID-19 omicron variant spreads, more people are lining up at Jackson State University for free Pfizer and Moderna boosters. Vaccinations are available to students, faculty, staff and community members from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at “One University Place, Suite 6, 1100 John R. Lynch Street, Jackson, Mississippi 39217.

The Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center is providing regular vaccinations and boosters.

Insurance is not needed, and vaccines are provided at no cost by the Mississippi State Department of Health. Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center is one of two Federally Qualified Health Centers in Mississippi designated as a federally approved vaccination site.
