(October 13, 2021) Rising sensation The Shindellas (Kasi, Stacy, and Tam) is back with a brand new cinematographic visual for their new single “Feeling The Pain.” The new Tyler Oates-directed video finds the ladies tapping into retro sounds of R&B influences ladened with visuals from the 70s that bring to the forefront what they call ‘New American Soul.’ With just one watch, you’ll channel a meticulous funk-tinged blend of swing and soulful smooth vocals accompanying the video.
“We totally enjoyed making this video. This was like a scene from a 70s movie…the costumes, the make-up, the feel of the club just took us back in time,” states The Shindellas. “We hope the fans enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!”
The Shindellas’ debut album Hits That Stick Like Grits, released in September via Weirdo Workshop/The Orchard. The brainchild of Chuck Harmony and Claude Kellya.k.a Louis Yorkhandpicked members Kasi Jones, Stacy Johnson, and Tamara Chauniece under the belief that when women come together, powerful change can happen. Written and produced by these hitmakers, this 14-track album showcases each voice and how they blend to sound like one voice. The album’s lead single “Money” remains a fan favorite, with the video garnering over 2M views on YouTube. Other releases featured on the album include “Fear Has No Place” and “When You Are Lonely.”
The ladies recently made an appearance on Good Day New York. They were interviewed by Christal Young discussing their new album, the love they’ve received from artists like Beyonce, Missy Elliott, Anita Baker, performing at the 2021 CMT Awards, and more. The Shindellas performed a live performance of “When You’re Lonely.”
The Shindellas have been featured on NPR (click here), appeared at the ESSENCE Festival of Culture, performed at the TEDxNashville Women, and most recently made history as the first R&B band to perform at the 2021 CMT Awards.
Since hitting the scene back in 2017, the Nashville-based band has been on a mission to impact music with their unique sound and style. The Shindellas will resonate with listeners as their sound is very familiar and will draw a comparison to acts like The Supremes, The Clark Sisters, The Jones Girls, and The Pointer Sisters. The ladies bring a new fresh take with an effervescence of vibrant vocals and passion.
