(September 13, 2021) IT’S FINALLY WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR…The Shindellas have released their long-awaited debut album Hits That Stick Like Grits. It is an amazing piece of artwork that ushers in the “New American Soul,” a phrase coined by multi-Grammy-nominated songwriting-production duo Chuck Harmony and Claude Kelly, a.k.a Louis York (the masterminds behind some of the most popular and liberating hits for female artists like Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston, Miley Cyrus, Fantasia, Jazmine Sullivan and more).
The Shindellas consist of Kasi Jones, Stacy Johnson, and Tamara Chauniece who Claude and Chuck handpicked under the belief that when women come together, powerful change can happen. Written and produced by these hitmakers, this 14-track album showcases each lady’s voice and how well they blend to sound like one. The album’s lead single “Money” has emerged as a fan favorite, with the video garnering over 2.3M views on YouTube (click here to watch). The ladies are gearing up to release visuals to their next single “Feeling The Pain” (Click Here to Watch Preview). Other releases featured on the album include “Fear Has No Place,” “Volcano Love,” and “When You Are Lonely.”

“When we were on this quest creating The Shindellas, we felt that there was a need for something different and out of the box. We wanted to tap into the soul of our heritage and created this sound of ‘New American Soul’ that brings something familiar but still fresh and creative,” states Chuck and Claude. “The Shindellas are amazing in capturing all the feelings and emotions that music gives and we hope that listeners feel nostalgic and refreshed when listening to ‘Hits That Stick Like Grits.’”
The Shindellas have been featured on NPR (click here), appeared at the ESSENCE Festival of Culture, performed at the TEDxNashville Women, and most recently made history as the first R&B band to perform at the 2021 CMT Awards.
Since hitting the scene back in 2017, the Nashville-based band has been on a mission to make an impact in music with their unique sound and style.
