(JACKSON, Miss.) — Jackson State University will receive $1 million over five years from FedEx Corp. to support educational opportunities and employment equity. An initial funding of $200K has been designated to support students, faculty and staff as they navigate the COVID-19 crisis.
Remaining funds will support a broader collaborative program between FedEx and the HBCU.
JSU President Thomas K. Hudson commended the organization for its investment in JSU.
“FedEx has always been an innovator with a pulse on the future, and they recognize the importance of investing in education and the leaders of tomorrow,” Hudson said. “We are honored to receive this financial gift, as it will provide additional resources for our students as they navigate higher education amid a pandemic. We also look forward to collaborating further with FedEx.”
