“It was an honor for me to perform at the Black Girls Rock! Awards after being a fan of the work Beverly Bond has done to empower young black girls for so long” states Mumu. “Then to be asked to honor the ‘Mothers of the Movement’ was a blessing for me.”
Mumu Fresh also wrapped up touring with rapper/actor Common on his “Let Love Tour,” which made stops in Dallas, Toronto, Detroit, Cleveland, Philadelphia, DC, Charlotte, Kansas City among others. In addition, Mumu had an event-filled weekend performing in New Orleans celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the ESSENCE Festival. As a multi-talented artist, Mumu has also shared the stage with countless icons including The Roots, Sting,Lala Hathaway, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Ed Sheeran, D’Angelo, Femi Kuti, Zap Mama, Bruno Mars, Nas, and Dave Chappelle among others.
