Ralph “rEN” Dillard began drawing at a very early age. In 2006, the well-known visual artist began to unleash his passion for painting in the German-town section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Over the years, experience coupled with spiritual enlightenment has helped rEN master his artistic talent while allowing him to flow in the art of unlearning. By doing so, he has remained his most authentic self.

“This is a period of my life that I believe I’m in full alignment with what I’m supposed to be doing and where I”m supposed to be,” rEN shared during an interview with Southern Laced guest host Fallon Victoria for GET LACED… LET’S TALK! Podcast.

rEN discussed his passion for helping people look within because he believes that art is bigger than the individual artist. He also opened up about his use of art for therapy and meditative experiences.

In Honor of Black History Month, rEN had the honor of successfully completing the following three installments of The Inner Ground Railroad Exhibition: “RIVER JORDAN” at Southwest Arts Center, “DRINKING GOURD” at South Fulton Arts Center and “PROMISED LAND” at the Aviation Community Cultural Center.

For those who missed out on the installments, the exhibition, which displays a wide range of incredible visual artist, will continue until March 4th. (see details below)

“What if the only true path to freedom is the path within?” This is the question posed to the 20 of Atlanta’s top tier African American artist participating in the exhibition, which is one of the biggest exhibits rEN has ever been involved in.
