National Minority Awareness Month: Rebbie Jackson’s Daughter, Yashi Brown, Discusses Her Bipolar Disorder​

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health, over 70% of Black/African American adolescents with a major depressive episode did not receive treatment for their condition. As a result, the HHS Office of Minority Health encourages us to educate our community about the importance of improving access to mental health care and treatment and to help break down other barriers such as negative perceptions about mental illness.
