Marquis Goodwin, a wide receiver with the Francisco 49ers, shared a touching video on Instagram capturing the reactions of his mother, Tamina, and his sister, Deja, as he unveiled the brand new residence he’d bought for them.
Inside the video, Goodwin, who signed a three-year $20 million dollar contract extension earlier this year, can be seen sharing an emotional embrace with his mother. His sister, who has cerebral palsy, took in the moment from a red carpet rolled out to their new home.
Goodwin’s caption read, “I know mama… I can feel your energy in this video! All the obstacles WE have overcome… Man…I love you so much mama… thank you for EVERYTHING! Especially blessing me with a sis like my Deja!!!”

In November 2017, Goodwin and his wife lost their premature son due to pregnancy complications. Shortly after, he lost his biological father.
Even while suffering personal losses, Goodwin, 27, was able to persevere making 56 catches for 962 yards and two touchdowns. The former long jumper and sprinter ranked third in the NFL with 17.2 yards per catch.
