The 2016 Southern Laced Music Award was created to honor a Contemporary, Blues, Jazz or Rhythm & Blues musician or singer who has inspired and influenced communities through the field of arts. Today, we are happy to introduce you to our first recipient, Just Allen.

Singer, songwriter, pop/hip-hop dancer, and musician are just a few words which describe Just Allen. This unique artist combines R&B basics of harmony and soul to produce a sound characteristic of new generation artist. Born in Pinola, Mississippi, Allen discovered his natural talent to sing and perform at an early age.

Growing up in Mississippi was quite an experience as Allen’s family history consists of an influential musically inclined background. His versatile R&B/Soul style connects with listeners in a sense of everything from making you feel loved, like loving, or making love to also getting down on the dance floor if you want to loosen up. Allen has written and produced many songs and performed at several venues in Mississippi, Alabama, and Atlanta, just to name a few. He is currently signed to minor recording label “Kingdom Entertainment“, under the leadership of Dixon Management. Allen possesses a combination of many talents; however, you haven’t heard anything until you’ve listened to the harmony and crooning he brings to the R&B/Soul culture.
