Tell us about yourself. Where are you from? Where do you live now?
I am 38 years old with two children. A boy who’s 18 years old and a girl who’s 6 years old. I’m from Terry, Mississippi, but now live in the Jackson, Mississippi area. I’m a die-hard JSU (Jackson State University) Tiger Fan and New Orleans Saints fan. I love the Lord and my family. I’m in an interracial relationship with Philip Wilson and have enjoyed every minute of it because LOVE has no COLOR!!!
Philip is 35 years old. He doesn’t have any children of his own, but loves mine unconditionally. He’s from Raymond, Mississippi where he still resides.
How did you meet?
Well, we dated 15 years ago and crossed each other’s path again in 2013. We rekindled what we lost all those years ago.
GOD has taught me that no matter how the world looks at us, the decision to be HAPPY is up to us.
Describe the moment you knew you belonged together?
As stated before, we dated 15 years ago. The day our paths crossed for the second time and nothing was in the way of us being together… it had me looking to God for how to approach the situation. Philip didn’t know about my daughter. But the moment I told him about her, his eyes lit up and his acceptance of myself and my children was genuine. Philip has put us first ever since.
Before I can speak it, Philip has already spoken it. Before I can ask for it, he has already provided it. And, my GOD, he’s just awesome with my children! If that’s not enough to make you wanna be with a person, I don’t know what is!!!
What makes your relationship work?
GOD!!!
What’s your favorite thing about each other?
Catherine: The way he finishes my thoughts.
Philip: The way she is strong for everybody else. She lets me be her ROCK!!!
Tell us about your funniest moment together.
My birthday weekend in 2014 at the Memphis Wolfchase Mall. I was in a boot for my foot and this sales lady was approaching us. I told Philip, “That lady wants you.” But to my surprise she said, “Girl, I don’t know how but you ROCKING THAT BOOT!!! Can’t NOBODY say YOU AIN’T SEXY!!!” That made me STRUT a lil HARDER…..after we stood up from laughing!!!!

I dated Philip a long time ago (more than 15 years ago) and although it didn’t work out with us I’ve always known he is a wonderful man! Catherine you are blessed to find and keep this man and I can tell he is equally blessed to have you! Relationships take compromise and selflessness, you have found both!
