Featured Couple Clifford and Fallon Brewster Interview #1

Tell us about yourself. Where are you from? Where do you live now?

My name is Fallon Brewster and my husband is Clifford Brewster. We are both 27 from Jackson. Currently, we live in Byram. We have a 2-year-old son.

How did you meet?

We met in high school (Provine). He approached me in the hallway on the way to the gym and introduced himself and asked if we could exchange numbers. I had to rush to basketball practice so I told him to meet me after gym and I forgot to. Two weeks later we met again. We sat together at a school assembly and somehow our hands locked with one another. We were strangers at that time but knew that there was something undeniable about that moment. He gave me his number. It took a while but I called him and I’m glad I did.

Describe the moment you knew you belonged together?

It sounds funny but we both knew that we were gonna get married after our first phone conversation. We were only 17 but he said to me, “if you’re the person you seem to be then I’m gonna marry you.” And he did just that. We got married at age 22.

What makes your relationship work?

We’re committed to loving each other in spite of and not because of. Even when we don’t like each other at times we still love each other.

What’s your favorite thing about each other?

I’m not sure that we have a favorite thing, but we appreciate our differences. We complement each other because we think differently. He’s process driven and I’m creatively driven. I tend to think outside of the box and he’s sort of by the book and task oriented. When we combine those elements we cover a lot of ground.

Tell us about your funniest moment together.

We’re both kind of silly, so there are several. But immediately after our wedding, we were trying to get in the car to go to the reception, and a lady walked up to us and started smiling. Then she said, “Y’all look so nice. I know you’re just getting married but do you got a couple of dollars I can hold?” Lol!!! The photographer snapped a picture of my husband as the lady was talking to him and his facial expression is priceless!! He granted her request but that was hilarious.
