Love To Hate The Villain

Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads reading my blog!!! If you haven’t been a good father in the past, today is a good day to start.


A villain must be a thing of power, handled with delicacy and grace. He must be wicked enough to excite our aversion, strong enough to arouse our fear, human enough to awaken some transient gleam of sympathy. If I asked you to describe a perfect world, would it include a villain? A world filled with goodie two shoes would leave no room for scoundrels.

Would the world be a much better place without deception lurking in shadows? Days and nights would make their rounds with little or no surprises. What would be gained without a villain creating uproar and havoc among those with perfect lives?

Truth be told, we love to hate the villain. We can’t live with them…
