Fantasies For Sale

My name is Kelly Stone and I sell fantasies. My books are the result of my imagination. All characters appearing in my work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, are purely coincidental.

Have you ever encountered a good marriage? I often find myself in conversations with married couples striving to make things work. As the years pass, the honey moon phases out and reality sets in. When this happens, a decision has to be made. Will you leave or fake it until you make it?

It’s hard to discuss the common problems of marriage when you are surrounded with the image of what a marriage is supposed to be. No one wants to share their true story of why they chose to stay together. No one wants to confess infidelities because that’s too much like airing dirty laundry. No one wants to admit that they are just not compatible. Who does that?

What makes one marriage work may or may not be workable for another one to survive. One must take into account levels of maturity, emotional stability and common sense. I was once told that love is a good thing, but marriage is business.

Marriage is a touchy subject for one that would go to any lengths for the squeaky clean image. The good is exemplified, while the bad is often hidden. This is why you can’t judge a book by it’s cover.

In a world where marriage has lost the sacredness it once possessed, many people dream of happily ever afters. I have never encountered what I consider a good marriage. So I am inclined to write my vision of what I believe a good marriage should be.

Do you hate upholding the image of marriage? The bible says nothing is new under the sun. If you dug deep enough, upholding the image of marriage could probably be traced back to Adam and Eve. It’s true that a growing number of marriages end in divorce, but some couples choose to stay together. Most of the time, it’s financially beneficial. Other times, it’s a matter of true love and upholding vows.

I pray a generation will rise up to exemplify the true essence of marriage. Until then, I’ll keep selling fantasies.
