Event Overview

GRAMMY®-winning musician and cultural ambassador Trombone Shorty will be honored with the seventh annual Crossroads of American Music Award during the 2025 GRAMMY Museum Mississippi Gala. Presented by Quality Steel Corporation, the gala celebrates artists whose work reflects the creativity born in the cradle of American music.

This year’s theme, “Brass & Bayou: Crescent City to the Crossroads,” will highlight Trombone Shorty’s New Orleans roots and his powerful contributions to American music. The evening will feature a red-carpet reception, dinner and cocktails, live performances, and both silent and live auctions.

In addition to presenting Trombone Shorty with the Crossroads Award, the museum will also honor an outstanding Mississippi educator with the 2025 L.U.C.Y. Award, recognizing their commitment to music education.


About Trombone Shorty

Born Troy Andrews in New Orleans, Trombone Shorty began performing at age 4 and has since become one of the city’s most celebrated cultural icons. A multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, and philanthropist, he has performed worldwide, collaborated with artists across genres, and founded the Trombone Shorty Foundation to support youth music education. In 2022, he earned his first GRAMMY as a featured artist on Jon Batiste’s Album of the Year winner We Are.
