Event Overview
The Otis Redding Foundation presents the 4th Annual King of Soul Music Festival in Macon, Georgia, celebrating the enduring legacy of Otis Redding through music, community, and philanthropy.
- Friday, September 12 – “An Evening of Respect”: The festival kicks off at the Macon City Auditorium with a gala honoring Jon Platt (Otis & Zelma Redding Award of Respect), The Peyton Anderson Foundation (Otis Redding III Award of Philanthropy), and the late Josh Rogers (Otis Redding Dream Award). The evening will feature Preservation Hall Jazz Band with special guests Yola, Lamont Landers, Dexter Redding, and Charles Davis.
- Saturday, September 13 – Big “O” Homecoming Show & Dance: The celebration continues at the Capitol Theatre with the ultimate dance party featuring Mannie Fresh, the legendary New Orleans DJ, producer, and rapper known for his work with Cash Money Records and artists like Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and T-Pain.
All proceeds benefit the Otis Redding Center for the Arts (ORCA), supporting music and arts education for youth in Middle Georgia.
