Fresh Off His Acclaimed Broadway Run, R&B Star Performs
“Night Time Is The Right Time” in Honor of the Ultimate Icon

(Los Angeles, CA – June 11, 2025) – Multi-Grammy-nominated R&B star Tank joined an all-star lineup of performers at the 2025 BET Awards to celebrate Jamie Foxx as one of this year’s Ultimate Icon Award recipients. The tribute was powerfully introduced by music icon Stevie Wonder, setting the tone for one of the most unforgettable moments of the evening.
Tank took the stage alongside musical icons Babyface, Jennifer Hudson, T-Pain, Teddy Riley, Ludacris, and Doug E. Fresh in a heartfelt tribute honoring Foxx’s incredible contributions to music, film, and culture.
Delivering a moving rendition of the Ray Charles classic “Night Time Is The Right Time”—a song Foxx famously performed in his Oscar-winning role in Ray—Tank brought the house down. The crowd erupted when Jennifer Hudson made a surprise appearance mid-performance, taking the energy to new heights and cementing the tribute as a standout moment of the night.
The BET Awards appearance marks the culmination of a landmark season for Tank, who recently completed a three-month run on Broadway in Alicia Keys’ hit musical Hell’s Kitchen. His Broadway debut showcased his versatility as a powerhouse vocalist and a dynamic actor, earning him rave reviews.
Now, with Broadway in the rearview—for now—Tank is heading back into the studio to begin recording his next project. With a catalog of soul-stirring hits and a reputation as one of R&B’s most consistent voices, fans can look forward to even more classic material from The General.
Tank also remains a powerful voice in the culture through his celebrated R&B Money Podcast, co-hosted with longtime collaborator J. Valentine. The show continues to thrive, featuring compelling conversations with guests ranging from Chris Brown to Dionne Warwick, Jermaine Dupri, Smokey Robinson, and L.A.
