(New York, NY – May 9, 2024)– Lowenburg Productions, a multimedia production company helmed by music industry veterans Jamison Antoine and Andre Howard, is working with Syracuse University’s Newhouse School program in New York City with the production of a new music business documentary series.
Newhouse television, radio, and film students spending a semester in the Newhouse NYC program are having hands-on experience co-producing the second episode of “The Risk Takers,” an eight-part series exploring entrepreneurship in the music business.
The experience is part of the Studio Process and Workflow course taught by Javier Farfan at the Newhouse NYC program.
“We want to provide students with real-world, immersive experiences before they graduate from our program,” Farfan said. “Working with Lowenburg gives our students an exciting way to apply their coursework to 21st-century storytelling.”
Over eight weeks, students will have class assignments that allow them to conduct historical and archival footage research, experiment with screenwriting, and participate in production. Through this collaborative effort, students will learn about licensing, cinematography, and talent management.
Students will use Great Point Studios’ state-of-the-art production facilities in Yonkers, New York, to conduct interviews with artist managers, executives, music producers, and entrepreneurs. Lowenburg will equip students with frontline industry skill sets while delivering on the Newhouse NYC commitment to exceptional learning experiences.
