
The Jackson Film Festival presented the George Raymond: Thirst for Freedom Documentary on Thursday, July 27th exclusively at this year’s film festival. The film was a startling in-depth look behind the Mississippi Burning Trial and the life of civil rights activists George Raymond.


The JXN film festival invited viewers and guests to journey through the life of George Raymond told through the experiences of key eyewitnesses, investigators, friends, and family. This film documented harrowing experiences along with the triumphs and struggles taken to ensure the sacrifice that it took to create history.

A black tie awards Gala will be hosted on Friday, July 28th, which is the last day of the festival. There will also be numerous film and screenwriting workshops along with a special screening in commemoration of the anniversary of The Wiz.
