Racist or A Bad Joke?

I recently watched a video of comedian George Lopez at one of his comedy shows. As he was telling a joke about Latinos, he stated, “There’s two rules in the f*cking Latino family. Don’t marry anyone black and don’t park in front of their house.”

One of the audience members was not here for his joke because, after that statement, that person gave George Lopez the middle finger and pretty much went muy loco.

He told the audience member, “Sit your f**king a** down. I’m talking to you b***h. Sit your f**king a** down.” He went on to say, “You paid to see a show. Sit your a** down. You can’t take a joke, you’re in the wrong motherf**king place.” Lastly, he said, “You have two choices… Either sit the f*** down or get the f*** out.”

Now, I know at these comedy shows, you never know what to expect. Because eventually, the jokes might be on you. I’ve been to several comedy shows and I’ve seen some people not like a joke because they feel that it is racist. It’s a comedy show for a reason it’s meant to make people laugh, but it doesn’t mean that you disrespect the audience member by calling them out of their names and telling them to get out. It’s a way to resolve issues like this, but some people just don’t know how to handle it. I’ve seen people get up and leave while a comedian is on stage talking and the comedians will talk about you even when you dislike the jokes or make a verbal reaction to it.

The only thing I can say is that I didn’t like how he reacted to the audience member, but it was a joke. I didn’t even know George Lopez still did comedy shows. How interesting?
